Project Life Tuesday: Week 4

So it's that time again... Project Life Tuesday and I am linking up today over at The Mom Creative.  This week was a fun layout to work with... we had lots of fun things that happened this week.  And I even used some of the cool paper and embellishments that I picked up at the scrapbook store, Archivers.  You can see all about that in this post!!!  I must say that I am LOVING the seafoam kit.  The colors and design are just amazing, I am so glad that I went with this kit.

So on to this weeks layout...

Left side

This week I used the "who, what, where, when, and why" card.  I just love this 3x4 card and it worked perfectly to journal about my recent dentist appt.  And of course I had to throw some washi tape onto the page.

Also, this week we celebrated Patrick's 28th birthday so I added 2 inserts for this birthday.

The first insert... I used a 6x12 page protector.  I put in all of the birthday cards Patirck received
and then trimmed the page protector down and then used washi tape to seal the top.  The tape can easily be removed in case we ever want to pull the cards out to read again.

The second insert... I used Design F page protector.  I used a 4x6 journaling card to journal about the events of the day and then collaged 6 pictures to fit in each pocket.  I collaged (6) pics into (3) 4x6 photo and then cut the 4x6 in half to make (6) 3x4 photos.  I found these super cute tabs with the cutest sayings on them... the one I used this week says "moments."  I will definately be using these a lot through out the album.

To fill the back of this insert I used some of the paper from Archivers and filled the rest with paper from the seamfoam line.

Right side

I used collages in the 4 main picture slots, because I had multiple pics for each item I wanted to document.  I love using these collages so I can fit more pics into each layout.

I love how this layout turned out and can't wait to get started on next weeks pages.

Happy Birthday to my love!

Yesterday we celebrated my hubbys 28th birthday.  Hard to believe we are in our last half of the 20's and that 30's will be here before we know it.  I was off work yesterday so I got up at 4am to make blueberry/strawberry muffins for Patirck before he left for work... (yes that is early, but hey he is worth it!)

I was so excited for him to get home from work so I could surprise him with his gifts.  He has been wanting a new pair of Oakley sunglasses, because the nose piece fell off his other ones. Needless to say when he opened them he grinned from ear to ear!!! He was so excited that it melted my heart... I love getting gifts people LOVE!!

Check him out in his new shades.... lookin good I might add!!

And here is a pic of us with Lily girl after he was done opening presents

We went to dinner to one of his favorite restaurants, Cheddars!! We love that place.... great food, large amts, and ridiculously cheap!  And we couldn't pass up their famous cookie monster for dessert.  Doesn't it look to die for???!!!

I think he had a good day!  We have celebrated many, many birthdays together and I hope we have many more to come!!

Fabulous finds this week

On my days off during the week I usually dedicate one day to run errands and even though I try not to I usually make a trip to Target. This week was no different. My hubby took an unexpected day off yesterday and he offered to run errands with me and before he knew it we were in Target. He knows my obsession with Target, but he simply can't understand my joy of BROWSING! C'mon now... Target is always getting new products and with spring on the way.... There was plenty to look at.

I did come away with a few cute bins to organize some things in the office closet and a super cute decorative jar by Nate Berkus to put on top of the kitchen cabinets. But some my favorite purchase yesterday were from the dollar bins. I just love those $1 dollars bins at Target. Of course there is a lot of junk in there, but sometimes they really have some cute things especially for upcoming holidays!

I just love this super cute tissue paper and cards that I plan to use for Valentines day!

And aren't these little notepads cute??!! I am always looking for things to jot notes down on and to keep my organized. I use my Erin Condren planner ALL the time to make notes in, but I thought these would be fun to use for daily tasks and to make lists of things that need to get done.

And I have to share some really cool things I picked up today to use for my Project Life album. My friend asked me the other day if I had been to Archivers? (huge scrapbook store in our mall) I had been to this store before, but it has been forever. So, needless to say I knew I had to make a trip soon and today I was able to make it happen. Ughhhhh, can you say heaven? I have always been a scrapbooker... I loved doing it in high school and college. But, since I started Project Life my love for it has gone to a whole new level. Anyways..... Here is some cool things I picked up today.

Washi tape....

Paper I fell in love with and had to have....  it is going to go great with my seafoam kit!

I was so happy when I found the following paper products.  They are designed to fit right into the 3x4 and 4x6 page protector... just have to do a little cutting.  The colors and design are so bright and fun, I just can't wait to use them.

Starting in May/June, the Archivers store is planning to carry the full line of Becky Higgins Project Life + an exclusive project line from Becky Higgins.  I am so excited for the this and can't wait to actually buy the physical products in store instead of online.

Project life title page and week 2-3

This week is my first post of the year to share my project life pages. I started a little late because I was waiting for the Seafoam kit to arrive, but once it arrived I couldn't wait to start putting my layouts together.

Here is my title page and I just love how it turned out!

My design came after seeing some great designs and ideas from the project life creative team along with some of my project life friends. I am loving my new washi tape that I found from Joanne fabrics and my Amy Tangerine camera embellishment. It was my first Amy tangerine purchase!!!

I can not express enough how great this Seafoam kit is!! The kit is absolutely amazing and designs of the paper are just so appealing to the eye and I am already loving putting it all together.

Week 2 layout.....

Week 3 layout...

I am missing a picture for the end of last week... I forgot to send it with the others to be printed. But that's ok, I will just send it to the printer with this weeks pics.

I am excited to link up with The Mom Creative for Project Life Tuesday for the first time this year and for the first time since the beginning of last summer!!!

Love linking up to this site and love seeing all the creative designs and ideas that everyone has out there.

Red, Pink, and Hearts Galore

Have I ever told you all how much I L-O-V-E to decorate for holidays?! My favorites to decorate for are Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter, Valentine's Day.... Heck who am I kidding, I love them all!!!

Growing up my mom always decorated for every holiday. So I guess you could say my love for holiday decorating came from her and the spirit of always having a festive home. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Even though we don't have kids yet, Patrick and I love having the home decorated when holidays come. My favorite thing to decorate is the mantle!! The mantle is in the family room and thats where we spend the most of our time and mostly where our guests gather. I am constantly browsing Pinterest for ideas on how to decorate it for the holiday and even for just regular decor.

This week I got all the Valentines stuff out and even made a things, take a look!!!

The "love"banner was one thing I made this year. And I actually used materials and supplies I had here in my craft supply so it didn't cost a thing.

And this picture frame is another thing I made. I saw this idea on Pinterest and I thought it was very simple and cute. I used a frame I had here at the house, cut up some colored paper to fit in the frame and used some stickers that I had. I think it turned out pretty cute!!!

This isn't anything special, but I do love thee little 2 cupcakes I found last year at Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for stopping by!  I am so glad that today Friday is finally here and the weekend is upon us....Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Pinterest inspired dinner

One of my goals for 2013 was to cook dinner more for Patrick and I..... and I must say that I am off to a good start. Cooking for 2 can be rather difficult. We end up either having way too much or not enough. And working till 8pm during the week usually means we have sandwiches, Kroger to-go soup or cabinet fixings most of the time. So with the new year I was bound and determined to plan ahead more. I have found so many great, different, easy recipes on Pinterest that I am super excited to try and I know my hubby will be excited to.

So here is what we had tonight..... Cheesy enchilada casserole

I found this recipe from the Six Sisters' Stuff blog. They have the most amazing blog with lots of delicious looking recipes and fun craft ideas. Their blog is definitely a must see!!!

Here is how my enchilada casserole turned out....

I definately recommend this recipe, I can guarntee you won't be disappointed.  The hubby and I LOVED it and it will definately be on the menu again very soon.

I am busy working on decorating my mantle for Valentine's day and gathering all my other fun Valentine decor... can't wait to share with you all very soon.

Gratitude Journal 2013

As 2013 approached I began to look for ideas and ways to document our life and memories for 2013. Of course Project Life was one of them, but I also wanted to find something more personal for myself, like a journal. So I started searching Etsy, because I knew they would have just what I was looking for. And there it was..... The Gratitude Journal!! You should definitely check out this super cute Etsy shop.

The intent of the gratitude journal is to document something every day of the year that you are grateful for. I am planning to do this, but I am also going to use this as a personal journal where I can document the events, feelings, and ideas from the day. I have anxiously been waiting for the journal to arrive and it finally came today. I am super excited about getting this little journal started!!!

Weekend blues....

Ya its sad to say and something you will rarely hear my say.... But this weekend I have the blues and I am wishing this weekend away. My new job requires me to work every other weekend. I never thought I would say this.... But I am surprisingly ok with it since I only have to work 14 days a month and I don't have to spend long nights on the phone on call. So what's the difference this weekend???! FLU season!!!!! Flu season is in full swing and its already predicted to be one of the worst flu seasons in the past 10 years. My poor nephew was diagnosed with the flu this week, but luckily he never really felt too bad despite his fever.

With the influenza scare and the media coverage to get flu shots my normal days of seeing 40 patients a day has spiked to 60+ a day!! And it has made for one tired, stressed, up-tight, high strung, and impatient provider. Of course I am trying to internalize all these emotions while seeing patients and saving it for the hubby waiting at home. He has been such a big help at home the past couple weeks and has done what he can to make me laugh and relax when I get home. I am lucky to have have him in my life!!

So anyways... Here's to a weekend of work, caring for people that need me, and DRINKS on Sunday night to celebrate the end of the weekend and only a 2 day work week next week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend,

An obsession like no other!!

I think we can all probably agree how dangerous Target can be to the pocket book. My goal today was to run in Target and make a return on rug that I purchased for the living room that didn't look as good as I had hoped. I had every intention of running in and out, but today was like every other Target visit....... I came away with fabulous finds that I did not need but of course HAD to have!!

Here's some of finds of the day.....

Love these Nate Berkus candle holders and candles... they look great on my mantle!

Being the purse freak I am.... I had to cute this super cute one-shoulder bag.  It is cream and will look great come Spring time.

What is there not to L-O-V-E about chevron?!?!  I snagged these super cute storage totes for my office.. which I plan to put to get use for storing some PL supplies!

I just can't seem to find the strength not browse, browse, and browse some more during a visit to Target. And I know that I'm not the only girl with this problem and obsession. My love for Target will be for a lifetime!!!!!

I made Pinterest!

While I was away from the blogging world, it seems that I may have missed something that I would have died to know.

Ya... It may sound silly, but I was thrilled to say the least. When I logged in to blogger yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to see that I still had people reading my blog posts while I was gone AND the best part was that some of the posts had been pinned to Pinterest. Ahhhhhh!!!!

I know lots of peoples ideas, things, and posts are pinned everyday....but ME..... No way!!!!! It's the small things in life that make ya happy and being pinned on Pinterest is one of 'em for me. A few of my Project Life pages were pinned along with my Christmas card craft. Check it out!!

I am busy organizing all my Project Life supplies and pictures so I can start on my PL pages. The
Seafoam kit finally made it to Amazon yesterday so I am anxiously waiting for the kit to arrive so I can get my scraping and sharing underway.

New Beginnings For A New Year!

A new year brings new beginnings, new traditions, new goals, and new memories!!!

Obviously I have been majorly MIA when it comes to blogging since this is my first post since May 2012... goodness thats a long time. Life happened and l put blogging to the curb. So as the new year approached, I knew what one of my goals for 2013 would be......BLOGGING!!!!! I have missed reading some of my favorite blogs that I discovered in 2012 and I have missed documenting OUR LIFE as it happens. And I even have 2 close friends that have started blogging their own stories. You should check them out...

Brittney and Jacob Porter over at Thats So Porter

Lauren Battcher over at Where Youre Planted

And of course my friend Christy Wallace that introduced my to the blogger world and persuaded me to blog..... Check her blog out over at Wallace Family

A new year brings new memories, which means new documenting! And I have decided to use Project Life again this year to document our life in 2013. I started using Becky Higgins Project Life last year and I just fell in love with the project. It is a fun, easy, and fulfilling way to scrap, document, and keep everything from the year in one place. I am super excited to start this years album. I did a good job of posting some of my album pages from last years album until I feel off the blogging world. But I hope to change that this year and share more. For this years album I decided to use the Seafoam kit from Project Life....... It is lovely!!! Don't ya think?!

And Becky Higgins just released some new kits that will be coming out in May.... Ahhhh, I can't wait because I am in love with the Honey Kit. I am thinking I may use that kit for 2014.... Yes I am already thinking ahead!!!!

Project life has brought so much joy to my life. When I work on the album it's "my" time and I have come to love the time each week I designate to working on the album. So stay tuned throughout the year as I share some of my pages.
